Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a dedicated Practice Nurse to join a GP practice in Dundee. You will conduct chronic disease reviews, wound care, and routine clinic activities, delivering high-quality care in a structured primary care setting.

The role requires an NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience, confident in patient assessment, and able to work within treatment rooms. Immunisation and cytology training are desirable, and DBS clearance is expected.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.
