Locum Ready is recruiting a Locum Practice Nurse to work at a GP practice in Wirral. The role suits nurses with strong assessment skills to deliver chronic disease reviews, wound care, immunisations, and routine clinics in a structured primary care setting.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventive health work and treatment room activities, with regular or ad-hoc sessions and morning/afternoon slots, long-term bookings, and clear nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered with primary care experience
• Confident in chronic disease management
• Familiar with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carry out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained)
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Document clearly in the clinical system
