Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking qualified Locum Practice Nurses for flexible sessional work across primary care services in Dundee area, including Balunie Avenue. The role involves treatment room duties, chronic disease management, and preventive health clinics.

You will support multiple GP practices with clear protocols, conduct wound care, immunisations if trained, smear tests, NHS Health Checks, and maintain accurate clinical notes. NMC registration and enhanced DBS are required.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation and cytology training is beneficial.
• Confident in routine nursing tasks and treatment room clinics.
• Ability to adapt to different clinical teams and service structures.
• Familiar with common primary care systems.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver treatment room clinics including wound care and dressings.
• Support chronic disease management within established care plans.
• Carrying out immunisations for adults and children (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests where cytology-trained.
• Performing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Recording accurate clinical notes for each service.
• Assisting with general nursing duties as required.
