Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Workington. The role focuses on routine clinical duties, patient assessments, and helping manage patient flow within a busy primary care environment.

Ideal candidates will have prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS settings, be comfortable with clinical observations, and hold Enhanced DBS clearance. Ad hoc or regular weekly sessions are available, with morning and afternoon slots.

Qualifications

• Experience in primary care or NHS settings preferred.
• DBS Enhanced clearance is required.
• Comfortable performing routine clinical observations and using a clinical system.

Responsibilities

• Perform observations (BP, pulse, temp, SpO2).
• Assist with treatment room procedures and routine duties.
• Support clinicians and update patient records in the system.
• Provide lifestyle advice and health promotion.
• Assist with ECGs and phlebotomy if trained.
