Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support a GP practice in Widnes. You will assist with routine clinical duties, patient observations, and day-to-day treatment room activity, helping the clinical team deliver high-quality care.

Ideal candidates have prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS settings, with strong communication skills, competency with clinical IT systems, and a valid Enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
