Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to work for a GP practice in Yarm. You will support the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

This position offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions with morning and afternoon availability in an organised primary care environment. Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS and Enhanced DBS are desirable, with phlebotomy/ECG tasks and routine observations part of daily

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
