Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Devizes. The role focuses on assisting clinical staff with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity in a busy primary care setting.

Ideal candidates will have HCA experience in primary care or NHS, be confident carrying out clinical observations, and have good communication skills. Enhanced DBS is desirable; flexible patterns include ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable performing clinical observations.
• Enhanced DBS clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
