Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support a GP practice in Prescot. You will assist the clinical team with routine duties, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

This locum role offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions, with morning and afternoon availability, contributing to high-quality primary care delivery and NHS settings. Excellent communication and IT literacy are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS is required.
• Phlebotomy experience is desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS is essential.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
