Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to work at a GP practice in Ashton Under Lyne. You will support the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity, helping to manage patient flow and deliver high-quality care.

The role offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions, with morning and afternoon availability in a supportive primary care setting.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS
• Phlebotomy experience desirable
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations
• Good communication and patient interaction skills
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
