Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support a GP practice in Pudsey. The successful candidate will assist clinical staff with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activities within an organised primary care environment.

You will help manage patient flow, perform clinical observations, offer lifestyle advice and contribute to high-quality care delivery. DBS check is required and DBS enhanced disclosure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Enhanced DBS completed.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
