Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Wetherby. You will assist the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity within an organised primary care environment.

Key tasks include performing observations, assisting with treatment room procedures, phlebotomy (if trained), ECGs, and updating patient records. There is flexible ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions, with morning and afternoon availability,

Qualifications

• HCA experience in a primary care setting or NHS.
• Ability to perform clinical observations (BP, pulse, temperature, SpO2).
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT skills for electronic records and documentation.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
• Phlebotomy experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
