Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to work at a GP practice in Pudsey. The role supports the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery, in an organised primary care environment that provides clear guidance to ensure smooth sessions.

Qualifications

• HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
