Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Health Care Assistant to support a GP practice in Uckfield. You will assist with routine clinical duties, monitor patients, and help manage the treatment room flow to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Ideal candidates have HCA experience in primary care or NHS, with DBS clearance and good communication. Ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions, morning or afternoon shifts, with potential for long‑term block bookings.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
