Job summary

Locum Ready is recruiting a Locum Healthcare Assistant to work at a GP practice in Bexhill-on-Sea. The role supports the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will join an organised primary care environment with ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions, morning and afternoon availability and potential for long-term block bookings. Enhanced DBS and good communication with patients are essential to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
