Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full-time, fixed-term Consultant in Breast Surgery based at King's Mill Hospital, Sutton-in-Ashfield, with possible duties at Newark Hospital. Qualifications

• Essential: Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview
• Essential: Success in Intercollegiate Specialty Examination or equivalent (FRCS)
• Desirable: Postgraduate thesis
• Desirable: MD/MSc/MMEd
• Desirable: Completed oncoplastic fellowship programme or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Provision of a service to Sherwood Forest Hospitals, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department.
• Out-of-hours responsibilities, including participation in Consultant on-call rota where applicable.
• Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absences.
• Any responsibility which relates to a special interest.
• Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff including the observance of local employment and human resource policies and procedures.
• Responsibilities for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activity, locally and nationally.
• Participating in medical audit, the Trust's Clinical Governance processes and in CPD - CPD is provided in job plans and attendance at audit and other governance meetings is mandatory.
• Managerial, including budgetary responsibilities where appropriate and compliance with standing orders and standing financial instructions of the Trust.
• Any other duties which may be required from time to time which are reasonable regarded to be part of the role of a consultant.
