Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon for Wakefield with 10 PA fields, in a busy breast service across Pinderfields, Pontefract and Dewsbury sites. The team includes four Consultants and eight nurses; a one-stop diagnostic clinic runs five days a week.

The role offers a substantial leadership footprint, opportunities for teaching and research, and a close collaboration with Plastic Surgery for DIEP reconstructions, with travel between sites expected.

Formación

• Hold GMC licence to practice.
• Inclusion on GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT/equivalent at interview.
• MB BS/MB ChB or equivalent.
• MRCS qualification.
• FRCS Intercollegiate in Plastic Surgery/General and Part 2 or evidence of attainment.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Independent clinical practice in oncoplastic breast surgery with reconstruction experience.
• Experience in managing benign and malignant breast disease.
• Strong MDT collaboration and clinical decision-making.
• Good time management and analytical problem-solving.

Responsabilidades

• Provide clinical service of the highest quality for benign or malignant breast disease.
• Deliver a high quality breast reconstruction service.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a supportive team environment.
• Support teaching and research activities within the team.
• Provide leadership and act as a role model to junior staff.
• No Emergency on-call commitments.
• Post-operative care provided across sites by the team.
• Travel between sites may be required within the job plan.
• Administrative duties with office space, secretarial support, and IT facilities.
• Cross-site working with travel time incorporated in the plan.
