Job summary

HEYSHAM PORT LTD is seeking a Local Port Services Operator to support the Group Port Control Centre in Liverpool. You’ll engage with vessels, agents, terminals and port managers to share information and assist safe vessel transit.

The role involves operating AIS, CCTV and VHF equipment, following international and local standards, with training to achieve port knowledge endorsements and a Level 4 Apprenticeship. Shift work and development are offered.

Qualifications

• Teamwork experience in a busy operations environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with multiple stakeholders.
• Ideally holds a VHF operators certificate.
• IT proficiency including MS Office and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Local Port Services within Group Port Control Centre in Liverpool.
• Communicate with Vessel, Agents, Terminal and Port Managers to provide information and assistance.
• Operate AIS, CCTV, and VHF in line with international and local standards.
• Complete Port Marine Operations Officer – Level 4 Apprenticeship.
• Provide first response support to marine incidents, on a watch, in shift pattern.
