Job summary

New Appointments Group Ltd in Cranbrook is seeking an experienced HGV/LGV Driver. The role involves local and long-distance deliveries, vehicle checks, loading/unloading, and ensuring goods are transported safely and efficiently. You will work both independently and as part of a team.

Applicants should have a valid UK HGV/LGV licence, experience with rigid and articulated vehicles, and a good understanding of the Highway Code. The role may require evenings, weekends, and nights away.

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV/LGV licence for the vehicle category driven.
• Experience driving vehicles over 7.5 tonnes preferred.
• Good knowledge of UK road safety legislation and the Highway Code.
• Experience completing tachograph records and defect checks.
• Strong communication with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial vehicles including rigid and articulated lorries.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Safely load, unload and secure goods.
• Complete local and long-distance deliveries and collections.
• Plan routes and driver breaks with transport team.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers on delivery times.
• Maintain delivery paperwork, logbooks and tachograph records.
