Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Alexandria, delivering letters and parcels on a rotating shift, including Sundays. You will sort mail, drive a Royal Mail van, and walk routes while building customer relationships outdoors.

The role requires a full UK manual driving licence (up to 6 penalty points), fitness for walking long distances, and reliable, independent work. Overtime is paid, with a 30-hour week across 5 days.

Qualifications

• You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated in a busy environment.
• Strong organisation and resilience with a customer‑focused approach.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.
• Rotating shift schedule including weekends and Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers on your route.
• Work outdoors in all weathers.
