Job summary

Smart Solutions are seeking an experienced Loading Shovel Driver to join our client at a busy waste recycling facility near Grantham. Location is Barkston Heath, Ancaster.

Pay rate is £17 per hour with Monday to Friday shifts from 18:00 to 04:00, offering full-time ongoing work and immediate starts. The role involves supporting shredding and screening processes, moving materials safely around the yard, and performing routine pre-start checks.

Qualifications

• Valid Loading Shovel licence (essential).
• Previous experience operating a Loading Shovel within waste, recycling, aggregates, quarrying, or a similar industry.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently.
• A proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Operating a Loading Shovel safely and efficiently.
• Feeding green waste materials into shredders.
• Managing screening operations and maintaining material flow across the site.
• Stockpiling and moving materials as required.
• Carrying out daily pre-start checks and basic machine inspections.
• Reporting any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Following all site health and safety procedures.
• Assisting with general site duties where required.
