Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Loader in Northampton to join our team and help collect and haul waste from premises, including domestic and recycling streams. The role involves working mainly outdoors, with full training provided and a 42.5-hour week.

You will be responsible for safety, accurate paperwork, and supporting the driver during operations, while representing Veolia in a professional manner.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively within a team and with the public.
  • Work on your own initiative, as well as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual and focused.

Responsibilities

  • Emptying bins or collecting bags from premises. This includes domestic waste, green waste and recycling.
  • Ensure that any potential danger to yourself, other employees, and the general public is minimised.
  • Ensure the road is left clean and tidy following collections, including bins placed back on the boundary and all spillages cleared.
  • Assist the driver when manoeuvring the vehicle, especially reversing.
  • Act as ambassadors on behalf of the company, ensuring that the client is treated respectfully and that all requirements are complied with where safe to do so.
  • Perform duties in an efficient & effective manner that will ensure maximum productivity.
  • Accurately complete appropriate forms/paperwork or electronic tablet allocated work.
  • Comply with any site conditions ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed and appropriate Veolia PPE is worn at all times.
  • Work as part of a team or on your own initiative.
  • Report any accidents that occur during your shift to the manager and all accident reports are completed before you leave work.
  • Full training will be provided and will be working mainly outside in all weathers

Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week
