Job summary

The Lowry is seeking a Commercial Duty Manager to lead our live commercial operation across restaurant, bars, coffee shop, retail and events. This highly operational role places you on the shop floor to observe service, support teams and resolve issues before they affect visitors.

You will deploy resources during busy periods, manage queues, handle cash and maintain standards, with coaching to ensure consistent service and revenue protection.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, confident leadership across our live commercial operation.
• Oversee restaurant, bars, coffee shop, retail and events to ensure service remains consistent as demand changes.
• Spend time on the shop floor observing service, supporting teams and resolving issues before they affect visitors.
• Make deployment, queue management and priority decisions during busy trading periods.
• Lead and coach staff, reinforce standards, and manage cash handling and safe working practices.
• Communicate effectively between commercial teams and the wider organisation.
