The University of Brighton in Brighton is offering a unique opportunity for a Staff Residential Adviser to support students living in halls of residence. You will provide pastoral support as part of the Residential Wellbeing team and live in university accommodation while joining an on-call rota from 7.30pm to 7.30am.

This role is secondary to your substantive university post and requires calm, clear decision‑making during overnight shifts, weekend and bank holiday cover, and adaptability.

Formación

• Willingness to live on campus and participate in overnight on-call rota.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm in challenging situations.

Responsabilidades

• Provide first-line response to student welfare concerns and critical incidents.
• Support students who are homesick or struggling to settle into university life.
• Signpost students to appropriate university support services.
• Help resolve difficulties students may experience in their accommodation.
• Work with the Residential Wellbeing Team to build a sense of community and belonging in halls.
