Job summary

FirstPort is seeking a Residential Development Manager for a live-in role with rent-free accommodation. You will maintain a safe, well-managed development, support residents, and work with external contractors and the Retirement Homesearch partner to welcome new residents.

The role requires exceptional customer service, strong communication, and the ability to handle emergencies. You will collaborate with peers and attend regular team meetings in a diverse residential setting.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused approach across face-to-face interactions.
• Strong communication skills to resolve issues and complaints.
• Understanding of health & safety and ability to handle emergencies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems.
• Organised, methodical, and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development/office and ensure residents meet requirements.
• Carry out daily safety checks, maintain records, and protect data; keep communal areas tidy.
• Manage works: raise orders, supervise contractors, monitor progress, sign-off completion.
• Encourage Residents Association and support a Social Committee for events.
• Build links with residents' families, authorities, doctors and social workers as needed.
• In emergencies, contact the appropriate response teams or authorities.
• Assist with sales listings with Retirement Homesearch and welcome new residents.
• Collaborate with Development Managers and attend team/company meetings as required.
