Job summary

Tozers LLP in Exeter is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our growing team. The role covers a wide range of matters including disputes in trusts, wills, IP, data protection, and general breach of contract.

You will assist from start to finish, manage documents, deadlines, and prepare bundles, gaining real-world litigation experience. The successful candidate will be well organized, a proactive team player, and capable of communicating with clients under supervision.

• Experience supporting litigation teams or paralegals is preferred.
• Strong organisational and deadline-tracking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients.

Litigation ParalegalTeamLitigation & EmploymentLocationHybrid (Exeter)SalaryDependent on experienceStatus:Full TimeJob TypePermanentHours Of Work36.25 hours per weekJob Reference26-39 LIT PARAAbout the roleWhat you’ll be doingOur team of experienced litigators acts for a wide range of clients regionally and nationally including businesses, charities, housing associations and high net worth individuals, and represents clients in all Courts in England and Wales.The team is expanding and requires a paralegal to join them. The role will involve assisting in a wide range of litigation matters including disputed trusts and wills, intellectual property , data protection, business and property disputes and general breach of contract matters, as well as exposure to other matter types the team deals with. This role would suit someone keen to develop their skills and career as a litigator and you will get first-hand real-world experience of litigation cases from start to finish.Your standard responsibilities will include fielding initial enquiries, onboarding new clients, dealing with client enquires, assisting with pre-action correspondence, taking proofs of evidence, document and bundle production, tracking deadlines, assisting with general case management, research tasks, creation of marketing materials such as legal Insights and assisting the team’s lawyers generally. You will have the opportunity to liaise with clients, attend meetings, and court hearings (usually County Court and High Court).What we’re looking forWe welcome applications from all backgrounds and whilst you may have experience gained from a similar role, it will be more important for you to be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in the work we do as well as the skills necessary to be a litigator.You will be confident in communicating with clients and, under our lawyers’ direction, will be comfortable ensuring that clients have the information they need if our lawyers are engaged elsewhere.What you’ll haveYou will be very well organised and will enjoy organising others.
