Job summary

Legal Southwest, a well-regarded law firm, seeks a Personal Injury Paralegal or Solicitor to join its busy Litigation Department in Exeter. The role is based in Exeter with hybrid working after the first month and attendance required three days per week.

You will support claimant PI matters, with opportunities to develop expertise in a collaborative, client-focused environment and participate in business development activities within East Devon and South Somerset offices.

Qualifications

• At least one year experience handling claimant personal injury matters.
• Experience in clinical negligence would be advantageous.
• Candidates from other areas of litigation will be considered if they are committed to pursuing PI law.

Our client, an established and highly regarded law firm is seeking a Personal Injury Paralegal or Solicitor to join its busy Litigation Department based in Exeter / hybrid.

The Litigation Department handles a broad range of civil litigation matters and comprises nine fee earners supported by an experienced administrative team.

The successful candidate will ideally have at least one year’s experience handling claimant personal injury matters. Experience in clinical negligence would be advantageous, although candidates from other areas of litigation will also be considered if they can demonstrate a genuine interest in and commitment to pursuing a career in personal injury law.

Working as part of the Personal Injury team, the successful candidate will assist with a varied caseload of claimant personal injury matters, providing support throughout the lifecycle of cases while developing their own technical knowledge and expertise.

The role is based in the firm’s Exeter office, where attendance is required for a minimum of three days per week. Hybrid working is available after the first month, subject to successful integration into the team. There will also be occasional travel to the firm’s other offices across East Devon and South Somerset to meet with clients.

Business development forms an important part of the role. The successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute to the firm’s marketing initiatives, build professional relationships, and identify opportunities to develop new sources of personal injury work.
