Job summary

Service Care is seeking an experienced Litigation Lawyer for a 2-week contract, predominantly remote with some office attendance in the local area. Litigation Lawyer – Contract Role (2 Weeks)

Are you an experienced Litigation Lawyer seeking a challenging contract opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a Litigation Lawyer to join a local authority litigation team for an initial 2-week contract, with the potential for extension. This role offers an excellent chance to utilise your civil litigation expertise within a dynamic environment, primarily working remotely with occasional office attendance.

Job Overview

The Litigation Lawyer will be responsible for managing a wide range of civil litigation cases, including contract disputes, judicial review defenses, property litigation, and debt claims. Candidate Responsibilities

• Managing civil litigation cases within a local authority context
• Defending judicial review claims and handling contract disputes
• Assisting with property litigation matters and debt recovery proceedings
• Addressing homelessness issues and appeals related to homelessness and FTT improvement notices
• Providing legal advice and support across related civil issues
• Attending courts, mediations, or other judiciary hearings in person when required
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies throughout case management

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in civil litigation, ideally within a local authority or similar setting
• Strong knowledge of legal procedures and civil dispute resolution
• Experience in housing-related work, homelessness, or appeals (desirable but not essential)
• Additional experience in criminal, regulatory, licensing, or school attendance work (advantageous)
• Ability to work remotely, with flexibility for office attendance on the first day
