Job summary

Service Care Solutions is recruiting an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join a Greater Manchester Local Authority legal team on a contract basis. The role involves handling a varied civil litigation caseload, providing high-quality legal advice, and working predominantly remotely with hybrid flexibility.

The ideal candidate is a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with substantial post-qualification civil litigation experience, especially within Local Authority environments,

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive with substantial post-qualification civil litigation experience.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution capabilities.
• Experience handling litigated civil claims from issue to trial/hearing.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied and complex caseload of civil litigation from inception to completion.
• Provide legal advice and representation to the Local Authority across civil matters.
• Handle contract disputes, debt claims, property litigation and general civil matters.
• Defend Judicial Review claims and advise on challenges to Local Authority decisions.
• Attend court hearings, mediations and other proceedings as required.
• Maintain case management standards and progress matters within deadlines.

Service Care Solutions are currently working alongside a well-known Local Authority based in Greater Manchester to recruit an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join their legal services team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Litigation Solicitor to work within a busy Local Authority legal team, handling a varied civil litigation caseload and providing high-quality legal advice across a range of matters. If you have strong experience in Civil Litigation within a Local Authority environment and are looking for a predominantly remote opportunity, then this Litigation Solicitor role could be the perfect opportunity for you. Role: Litigation Solicitor Location: Greater Manchester / Hybrid Working – Mostly Remote Rate: £65 per hour Umbrella PAYE (Inc. Holiday): £57.79 per hour Contract Length: 3 Months Ongoing

Responsibilities as a Litigation Solicitor

• Manage a varied and complex caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through to completion.
• Provide legal advice and representation to the Local Authority across a broad range of civil litigation matters.
• Handle contract disputes, debt claims, property litigation and other general civil litigation matters .
• Defend Judicial Review claims and provide advice in relation to potential challenges against Local Authority decisions.
• Attend court hearings, mediations and other legal proceedings where required.
• Maintain a high standard of case management and ensure matters are progressed effectively and within relevant deadlines.

About you as a Litigation Solicitor

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with substantial post-qualified experience in Civil Litigation .
• Previous experience working within a Local Authority legal department is highly desirable.
• Strong experience handling litigated civil claims from issue through to trial/hearing.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution skills, including experience attending court and mediation .
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear and commercially focused legal advice.
