Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited in Reigate is seeking a seasoned Litigation Lawyer for a 3-month contract, predominantly remote. You will handle a diverse non-insurance civil litigation caseload for a Local Authority, including adult social care debt recovery, property and commercial disputes, and related advisory work.

The ideal candidate is a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX with strong drafting, advocacy and case-management skills, able to work independently to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer with a valid practising certificate.
• Extensive litigation experience, preferably within a Local Authority setting.
• Proven ability to manage property, commercial, and debt recovery disputes.
• Strong skills in drafting, advocacy, and case management.
• Capable of working independently and meeting multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse and complex caseload of non-insurance litigation matters.
• Offer practical legal advice to senior officers and client departments.
• Draft legal documents and instructions for Counsel.
• Attend meetings and undertake advocacy when required.

Litigation Lawyer - 3 Month Contract

Location: Reigate (Primarily Remote)

Contract: 3 Month Contract

Hours: 36 Hours Per Week (Minimum of 28 Hours Considered)

We are seeking a seasoned Litigation Lawyer to join a Local Authority's legal team for a 3-month contract, primarily working remotely. This role involves handling a diverse and challenging caseload of non-insurance litigation matters, such as Adult Social Care debt recovery, property and commercial disputes, and general civil litigation. The successful candidate will provide strategic, solutions-oriented legal advice to senior officers and client departments, draft legal documents and instructions for Counsel, attend meetings, and perform advocacy as needed.
