Job summary

Horwich Farrelly in Cardiff is seeking a Litigation Executive/Paralegal to join the Complex & Catastrophic Injury team on a permanent hybrid basis. You will support a Partner and fee earners on high-value claims, handling large and complex cases with a focus on accuracy and timely progress.

You will work alongside experienced lawyers, gaining exposure to multi-track cases involving catastrophic injuries and life-changing circumstances, while developing your own expertise in a supportive

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in civil litigation, preferably PI.
• Working knowledge of CPR/Pre-Action Protocol.
• Knowledge of insurance processes and terminology.
• Familiarity with medical records would be beneficial.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to strict deadlines.
• Able to meet/exceed billing targets; hourly rate charging experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior members of the team with Large and Complex Loss Claims.
• Review records and prepare detailed notes on key issues.
• Collate disclosure and keep in order.
• Prepare bundles for expert and Counsel Instructions.
• Instruct and liaise with experts and Counsel.
• Arrange conferences and accompany the fee earner.
• Diaries Court dates and directions; liaise with witnesses.
• Research legal issues relevant to cases.
• Exposure to catastrophic injury claims for national insurers.
• Assist with client MI/SLA requirements.
