Job summary

Horwich Farrelly in Cardiff is seeking an Assistant Solicitor / Fee Earner to join our Large & Complex Loss team on a hybrid basis (1–2 days in the office per week). The role is permanent and supports partners and senior solicitors on high-value personal injury claims.

You will handle pre- and post-litigation work, review evidence, draft correspondence, and manage court deadlines while developing expertise in catastrophic injuries and complex litigation.

• Willingness to travel to attend client meetings, court hearings and witness appointments

Responsibilities

• Supporting Partners and Senior Solicitors with day-to-day management of catastrophic and complex injury claims
• Assisting with pre- and post-litigation multi-track personal injury cases
• Reviewing and analysing evidence, drafting legal correspondence and case strategies
• Preparing court documentation and ensuring deadlines and directions are met
• Managing court timetables and maintaining accurate file records
• Instructing experts and counsel and assisting with trial preparation
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships and meeting SLAs
• Keeping up to date with relevant case law, legislation and market developments
