Job summary

Synthomer in Stallingborough is seeking a Lithene Plant Technician to join our manufacturing team. You will operate process equipment, support plant operations, and help maintain safety, quality and environmental standards.

You’ll work closely with a tight-knit team to meet production targets while keeping safety at the forefront. The role involves housekeeping, DSEAR checks, HP jetting as required, and responsibility for monitoring performance within defined parameters.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths GCSE required.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent vocational qualification.
• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental standards in manufacturing.
• Flexible approach to support different operational activities across site.
• Strong team-working and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and process equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to all Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) procedures.
• Carry out routine DSEAR checks and safety inspections.
• Monitor plant performance and operate within defined process parameters.
• Offload raw materials and pack finished products.
• Undertake HP jetting activities as required.
• Maintain housekeeping standards across operational areas.
• Provide cover across Lithene plant operations when needed.
• Support a culture of teamwork, accountability and high performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.

About The Role

As a Lithene Plant Technician, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of our Lithene plant. You'll be responsible for ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Working as part of a team, you'll operate process equipment, support plant operations, maintain housekeeping standards, and contribute to continuous improvement activities across the site.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating plant and process equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring compliance with all Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) procedures.
• Carrying out routine DSEAR checks and safety inspections.
• Monitoring plant performance and operating within defined process parameters.
• Offloading raw materials and packing finished products.
• Undertaking HP jetting activities as required.
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards across operational areas.
• Providing cover across all Lithene plant operations when required.
• Supporting a culture of teamwork, communication, accountability, and high performance.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programmes.

What We're Looking For

• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent vocational qualification.
• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental standards within a manufacturing environment.
• Flexible approach with the ability to support different operational activities across site.
• Strong team-working and communication skills.

Desirable

• Previous experience within the chemical, process manufacturing, or heavy industrial sector.
• Around 5 years' experience working within a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of Process Safety principles.
• HP jetting capability.
• Experience of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, including Kaizen and 5S.
