Job summary

Synthomer plc is seeking a Lithene Day Technician to operate process equipment and support safe, efficient Lithene plant operations at Stallingborough. You will contribute to achieving production targets while upholding safety, quality and environmental standards across the site.

You will work as part of a collaborative team, performing DSEAR checks, assisting with HP jetting, and driving housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives to sustain high performance.

Qualifications

• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent vocational qualification.
• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental standards within a manufacturing environment.
• Flexible approach with the ability to support different operational activities across site.
• Strong team-working and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operating plant and process equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring compliance with all Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) procedures.
• Carrying out routine DSEAR checks and safety inspections.
• Monitoring plant performance and operating within defined process parameters.
• Offloading raw materials and packing finished products.
• Undertaking HP jetting activities as required.
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards across operational areas.
• Providing cover across all Lithene plant operations when required.
• Supporting a culture of teamwork, communication, accountability, and high performance.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programmes.

Job description

As a Lithene Plant Technician, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of our Lithene plant. You'll be responsible for ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance. Working as part of a team, you'll operate process equipment, support plant operations, maintain housekeeping standards, and contribute to continuous improvement activities across the site. Desirable

• Previous experience within the chemical, process manufacturing, or heavy industrial sector.
• Around 5 years' experience working within a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of Process Safety principles.
• HP jetting capability.
• Experience of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, including Kaizen and 5S.
