A leading dairy company is seeking a Liquid Process Operator in the Devon and Torbay area. The role involves operating and monitoring processing equipment to ensure product quality and safety. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment, possess strong communication skills, and be adaptable to shift changes. As a Liquid Process Operator you will be a multi skilled operator as a part of a high-performance team supporting daily operations and meeting short and long term goals, reporting into the Area Lead-Liquid Process. Working 4 on 4 off (days & night shift pattern) in a 12 hour shift at our Arla Foods Taw Valley Creamery.
Key responsibilities:
Your role involves operating, monitoring, and cleaning processing equipment such as clarifiers, separators, pasteurisers, filtration units, and various valve types, as well as handling associated pump operations. You will also be responsible for using this equipment to process all whey and cream to the highest quality standards, safely unloading milk delivered to the site, and dispatching sweet and whey cream while ensuring all products are within specification.
Skills & experience:
Experience in a similar position is preferred, although full training will be provided. Ideally, you will have experience working in a liquid manufacturing environment and possess the ability to support your team while making decisions that protect quality and food safety. Flexibility is important, as the role requires covering both sides of the shift during holidays or sickness. You should be self-motivated, able to take accountability for your own tasks, and work in an organised and methodical manner by following company procedures. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, along with good communication skills to form positive working relationships, is essential. You should also demonstrate good numeracy and literacy, strong IT skills, and keen attention to detail. Basic knowledge of dairy science would be an added advantage.
