Job summary

IBM Consulting FutureNow is seeking a Linux & Infrastructure Specialist to design, build and support enterprise Linux platforms across on‑premise, hybrid and cloud environments. You will automate tasks, harden systems and help secure and optimise availability in regulated settings.

Strong candidates have experience with RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS, virtualization (VMware, KVM), scripting (Bash/Ansible), and cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP). A proactive, collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux OS such as RHEL, Ubuntu or CentOS.
• Experience supporting enterprise server environments physical, virtual and cloud.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper‑V).
• Experience scripting/automation (Bash, Python, Ansible).
• Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, firewalls).
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, administer and support Linux‑based infrastructure platforms.
• Manage enterprise server environments across on‑premise, hybrid and cloud infrastructure.
• Deploy, configure and troubleshoot Linux OSs (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Support virtualization platforms (VMware, OpenShift Virtualisation).
• Automate routine tasks using scripting and automation tools.
• Contribute to security hardening, patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Monitor health, performance and capacity of systems.
• Support storage, networking and infrastructure services for availability.
