Job summary

Forward Role Secure is seeking a Linux Infrastructure Engineer to own and evolve the Linux stack across on‑prem, virtualised and cloud environments. You will drive automation, security hardening, and resilience while shaping the cloud strategy and deployment practices.

You will work with AWS/Azure/GCP, containers, and IaC tools to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure and improved service performance across the estate.

Qualifications

• Hands-on configuration management experience with Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
• Cloud platform knowledge across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Nagios/Prometheus/Splunk).
• Exposure to containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) and virtualization (VMware/KVM/Hyper‑V).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support Linux infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
• Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive system monitoring.
• Own root cause analysis and resolve complex infra/OS issues.
• Manage patching, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
• Hardening systems and embedding security best practices.
• Support deployments, migrations, and new software releases.
• Act as go-to 2nd/3rd line infra support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive service improvements.
