TechNET IT Recruitment Ltd in the UK is seeking an experienced Linux & Cloud Operations Engineer to join a skilled Systems and Network team responsible for supporting production infrastructure. The role is predominantly remote with London attendance about 2 days per month; hotel accommodation is provided when required.

You will work across AWS, Kubernetes, containerization and automation to ensure reliability and security.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' commercial experience administering Linux systems in production
• Hands-on Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
• Production experience with AWS
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• Scripting experience using Bash and Python
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting complex applications
• Experience with databases such as MySQL and/or MongoDB
• Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware or Proxmox
• Good understanding of networking and infrastructure security
• Experience implementing or maintaining security controls within production environments

Location: Mostly Remote – London approximately 2 days per month

Travel: Hotel accommodation provided when required in London

We are looking for an experienced Linux & Cloud Operations Engineer to join a highly skilled Systems and Network team responsible for supporting and enhancing business-critical production infrastructure.

This is a predominantly remote position, with attendance at the London office typically required for just 2 days per month, with hotel accommodation provided where required.

The role would suit a strong Linux Engineer who has developed broader experience across AWS, Kubernetes, containerisation and infrastructure automation, and is comfortable supporting complex production environments.

The Role

You will be responsible for supporting, maintaining and improving Linux-based infrastructure across both cloud and on-premise environments, with a strong focus on reliability, automation and security.

Responsibilities will include:

• Installing, monitoring and maintaining Linux servers and infrastructure
• Supporting production environments across AWS and containerised platforms
• Working with Docker and Kubernetes environments
• Deploying, monitoring and troubleshooting production applicationsWriting scripts to automate operational tasks and deployments
• Managing security, software updates and patching
• Implementing and maintaining infrastructure security controls
• Improving infrastructure reliability, automation and operational efficiency
• Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues

What We're Looking For

You should have:

• 3+ years' commercial experience administering Linux systems within production environments
• Strong hands-on Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
• Production experience with AWS
• Experience working with Kubernetes and Docker
• Scripting experience using at least two languages, such as Bash and Python
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting complex applications
• Experience with databases such as MySQL and/or MongoDB
• Exposure to virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Proxmox
• Good understanding of networking and infrastructure security
• Experience implementing or maintaining security controls within production environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability

Any experience with the following would be beneficial:

• Highly available / 24x7 production environments
• Monitoring and observability platforms
• VPN technologies
• Juniper firewalls
• Evaluating and introducing new infrastructure technologies

The Package

• Up to £70,000 basic salary
• 6% annual bonus
• Predominantly remote working
• London office attendance approximately 2 days per month
• Hotel accommodation provided where required for London attendance
