Job summary

RedTech is seeking a Senior Linux DevOps Engineer to join a world-leading technology company developing AI-powered software solutions. You will own large-scale production environments, spanning Linux systems, automation, Kubernetes, containerisation, networking, observability and cloud infrastructure in a hybrid London setting.

The role offers a hybrid London working pattern (minimum two days in the office) with up to £100,000 salary and excellent benefits including private medical insurance,

Qualifications

• Strong Linux systems administration and production experience.
• Hands-on containerised workloads with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient in scripting for automation (Python or Bash).
• Knowledge of networking, security and performance in Linux.
• Experience with IaC tooling such as Terraform and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, secure and automate large-scale Linux production environments.
• Build and improve containerised environments with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Diagnose complex infrastructure and support incident response.
• Develop IaC and CI/CD processes to improve reliability.
• Implement monitoring, logging and observability across systems.
• Manage Linux workloads in cloud environments and optimise usage.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve infrastructure and tooling.

Job description

A fantastic opportunity for a Senior Linux DevOps Engineer to join a world-leading technology company developing cutting-edge AI-powered software solutions. You will join a highly talented R&D function working on the production infrastructure and systems that underpin sophisticated software products used by organisations across the globe. This is a hands-on, Linux-focused DevOps role where you will take ownership of large-scale production environments, working across Linux systems, automation, Kubernetes, containerisation, networking, observability and cloud infrastructure.

Location:

London, hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office

Salary:

Up to £100,000 per annum + excellent benefits

Requirements for Senior Linux DevOps Engineer:

• Strong commercial experience working as a Senior DevOps Engineer, Linux Engineer, Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer or similar
• Excellent Linux systems administration and command line skills, with experience operating and troubleshooting large-scale production environments
• Strong scripting and automation experience using shell scripting, Python or similar
• Strong understanding of networking, security and performance troubleshooting within Linux environments
• Hands-on experience operating containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with monitoring, logging and observability technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry or the ELK Stack
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tooling such as Terraform and Ansible
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar
• Experience with incident response, root cause analysis and driving improvements to the reliability and performance of production systems
• Commercial experience with Microsoft Azure or another major cloud platform such as AWS or GCP, ideally deploying and managing Linux-based services in the cloud
• Experience with the following would be beneficial: Microsoft Azure, ArgoCD, Helm, AWS, GCP, Go and configuration management tooling
• Our client has expressed a preference for DevOps Engineers who have hands-on ownership of production infrastructure within an in-house, product-focused technology environment

Responsibilities for Senior Linux DevOps Engineer:

• Operate, troubleshoot, secure and automate large-scale Linux-based production environments
• Build and improve containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes
• Diagnose complex infrastructure, networking and performance issues, supporting incident response and root cause analysis
• Develop automation, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD processes to improve engineering efficiency and reliability
• Implement and enhance monitoring, logging and observability across production systems
• Manage and optimise Linux workloads deployed within cloud environments
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve infrastructure, platforms, processes and tooling
