Job summary

Maxwell Bond in Manchester is seeking an Operations Engineer on a 12-month fixed-term contract to support Linux-based production infrastructure and legacy VPN data capture platforms.

You will troubleshoot incidents, automate tasks with Python or Bash, participate in an on-call support rota, and help keep critical systems secure, stable and highly available while collaborating with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Commercial Linux systems administration experience.
• Experience supporting production server environments.
• Scripting or automation experience with Python, Bash or similar.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with VPN technologies or networking is advantageous.

Operations Engineer

(12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Greater Manchester (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)

Salary up to £45,000 + Bonus

We have partnered with a Manchester-based technology company that is looking for an Operations Engineer to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Their platforms help some of the world's leading brands understand consumer behaviour by collecting and processing data at scale, and you'll play a key role in supporting the business-critical infrastructure behind these services.

You'll join a collaborative Operations team responsible for maintaining and supporting Linux-based production infrastructure and legacy VPN data capture platforms. This is a hands‑on role where you'll help ensure critical systems remain secure, stable and highly available while troubleshooting issues, improving operational processes and supporting day‑to‑day platform performance.
