Job summary

Ovia Lighting Ltd. is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join its expanding Technical & Quality team in Tamworth.

You will become a trusted technical expert across the product portfolio, guiding customers and colleagues with solutions that improve performance and support ongoing improvement across products and processes. The role involves diagnosing issues, providing technical advice to internal and external stakeholders, and helping select lighting solutions for diverse applications.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience with LED lighting products and associated electrical systems.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities are essential.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-class technical support for LED luminaires, lighting controls, and related products.
• Respond to technical enquiries by phone, email, or site visits as required.
• Diagnose and resolve product, installation, and performance issues.
• Guide customers through troubleshooting processes to achieve timely resolutions.
• Deliver technical advice and support to internal sales teams and external customers.
• Assess customer requirements and recommend suitable lighting solutions for a range of projects.
• Support product selection, compliance, and installation guidance.
• Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation documentation.
• Assist in creating and maintaining technical literature like datasheets and guides.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing to investigate issues.
• Maintain records of customer enquiries, investigations, and resolutions.
• Analyze recurring issues and suggest improvements for quality and service.
• Contribute to maintaining technical product information databases.
• Share knowledge and best practices across the business.
• Ensure all activities comply with company policies and Health & Safety rules.
• Promote safe working practices during investigations and visits.
• Keep up-to-date with industry standards and lighting technologies.
