Job summary

Ovia is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join its expanding Technical & Quality team. You will become a trusted technical expert across the Ovia product portfolio, guiding customers and colleagues, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvement in products, services and processes.

The role involves technical problem-solving, providing engineering support for luminaires and lighting controls, and collaborating with development and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Strong lighting product knowledge and electrical systems understanding.
• Ability to explain technical information to varied audiences.
• Customer-focused with proactive problem-solving approach.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking capabilities.
• Able to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-class technical support for Ovia luminaires, lighting controls, emergency lighting systems, and related products.
• Respond to technical enquiries via telephone, email, online platforms, and site visits when required.
• Diagnose and resolve product, installation, commissioning and performance issues.
• Guide customers through troubleshooting to achieve timely resolutions.
• Deliver technical advice to internal sales teams and external customers.
• Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation docs.
• Assist in creating and updating datasheets, installation instructions, and product guides.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing to investigate issues and identify root causes.
