Job summary

Allelys is seeking a hands-on professional to join our heavylift and engineering solutions team. The role is based in the lifting tackle warehouse and involves maintaining rigging loft organisation and equipment records.

You will verify WLL and certification, perform inspections within your training, and escalate defects to the Competent Person. Occasional loading of vehicles and assistance to inspectors may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse/yard and lifting tackle experience.
• Crane and Franna licences – desirable – in house training available.
• Ability to multi-task and use your own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Maintain control, organisation and housekeeping of the rigging loft.
• Issue and return lifting equipment and maintain records.
• Verify equipment identification, WLL, certification and examination status before issue.
• Carry out equipment inspections within training and authority.
• Identify and record defects and determine equipment status.
• Remove defective equipment from service and quarantine.
• Escalate defects and discrepancies to the Competent Person.
• Ensure serviceable and quarantined equipment are segregated.
• Maintain storage to prevent deterioration and damage.
• Verify documentation before accepting new lifting equipment into the loft.
• Control equipment awaiting repair or disposal.
• Ensure end-of-life equipment cannot re-enter service.
• Report significant defects and issues.
• General housekeeping of tackle warehouse and surroundings.
• Occasional loading/offloading of vehicles related to the tackle warehouse.
• Assist Insurance Inspectors with inspections.

The Role

This is a multifunctional role, based but not limited in the lifting tackle warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Maintain effective control, organisation and housekeeping of the rigging loft.
• Issue and return of lifting equipment and maintain accurate records.
• Verify equipment identification, WLL, certification and examination status before issue.
• Carry out equipment inspections within their level of training, competence and authority.
• Identify and record defects and determine the appropriate equipment status.
• Immediately remove defective or questionable equipment from service and place it into controlled quarantine.
• Escalate significant defects, certification discrepancies and uncertain inspection findings to the appropriate Competent Person.
• Ensure serviceable and quarantined equipment remain physically segregated.
• Maintain appropriate storage arrangements to prevent deterioration, contamination or damage.
• Verify required documentation before accepting new lifting equipment into the loft.
• Control equipment awaiting repair, competent assessment or disposal.
• Ensure equipment that has reached the end of its service life cannot re-enter service.
• Report significant equipment defects, recurring failures and lifting equipment control issues.
• General housekeeping of tackle warehouse and surrounding areas
• Occasional loading and offloading of delivery/collection vehicles related to the tackle warehouse
• Assisting Insurance Inspectors with inspections
