Job summary

Rubax Lifts Limited in Hertfordshire, England is seeking a qualified Lift Technician to service and maintain lift equipment across our network. You will perform routine servicing, diagnose faults, and ensure compliance with company procedures, PPE, and safety standards.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in lift maintenance or equivalent, solid electrical and mechanical knowledge, a UK driving licence, and the ability to work independently under pressure.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 minimum in lift maintenance or equivalent.
  • Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and routine replacement of components per approved procedures.
  • Rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment and check correct functioning.
  • Check speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power using approved tooling and PPE.
  • Carry out routine inspection and adjustment of escalator installations and reinstate lift with complete service documentation.
  • Perform fault finding and diagnostic procedures using manuals and test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
  • Use written or graphical information effectively.

Your main responsibilities
  • Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, 2+ etc).
  • Rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
  • Checks to include speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power supply using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment.
  • Carry out the routine inspection, adjustment, of escalator installations in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate lift and complete service documentation.
  • Carry out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
  • Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information.
What you bring
  • Experience in Lift Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs preferred.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in lift maintenance or equivalent.
  • Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand equipment.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and within efficiencies.
  • The ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
  • Manual dexterity – Requires the use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
  • Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
