Job summary

Austin Banks is seeking a Lift Engineer to carry out planned maintenance on passenger, goods, and platform lifts, diagnose faults, and attend breakdowns, ensuring safety standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering, strong fault-finding skills, and a full UK driving licence. You’ll work independently with excellent customer service, and may participate in on-call duties.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience servicing, maintaining and repairing lifts.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good understanding of current lift regulations and safety standards.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on passenger, goods, and platform lifts.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Attend lift breakdowns and emergency call-outs as required.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure all work complies with current legislation and industry standards.
  • Complete service reports and job documentation accurately and on time.
  • Liaise professionally with customers, site managers, and colleagues.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle in good working order.
  • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the on-call rota where applicable.
