Job summary

TJ Lift Solutions in Darwen, United Kingdom, is seeking a skilled Lift Engineer to service and maintain passenger, goods and service lifts across a designated area. You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities include completing maintenance visits, responding to call-outs, reporting issues to the Sales Department, and working with colleagues to keep client sites running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Engineering Maintenance.
  • Previous field service experience on a variety of lifts and of different ages.
  • Recognised Lift Engineering experience.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Knowledge of Lift standards and Codes of Practice.
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

  • To identify and report any reliability or safety issues including issues raised by customers.
  • Provide clear & concise details for the Sales Department.
  • To proactively identify possible solutions to problems.
  • To manage your own workload in an efficient and cost effective manner with minimum supervision.
  • Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant standards and statutory regulations.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is completed in an accurate and timely fashion, in keeping with standard operating procedures.
  • To work at client sites throughout your designated area, but to also assist our engineers in other areas, as and when required to do so.
  • To take part in the company’s 24/7 on call rota system.

Job Description:

To provide a high quality and efficient support function to service and maintain a range of customer lifts including passenger lifts, goods lifts and service lifts. The activities detailed in this document are not exhaustive and employees may be required to undertake other duties at the request of the management team and in line with the company requirements.

Job Knowledge and Technical skills
  • Competent in Electrical, Hydraulic and Mechanical Engineering.
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Engineering Maintenance.
  • Previous field service experience on a variety of lifts of different manufacturers and of different ages.
  • Recognised Lift Engineering experience.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Ability to rectify problems as they become apparent.
  • Ability to understand and interpret electrical & technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of Lift standards and Codes of Practice.
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety.
