Job summary

Freedom Leisure in Bridgwater is seeking a Lifeguard to help keep our facilities safe, clean and welcoming for customers. You’ll need to swim competently and be prepared for rota-based shifts across 37 hours per week, with full training provided to reach NPLQ.

Desirable First Aid at Work and Enhanced DBS checks are encouraged. We offer a range of staff benefits and development opportunities within our charitable leisure trust.

Qualifications

• NPLQ qualification required.
• Enhanced DBS check.
• First Aid at Work (desirable).
• Ability to relate to customers of all ages and abilities.
• Well developed interpersonal skills.
• Team oriented approach across organisation boundaries.
• Demonstrated passion and energy for the leisure industry.
• Ability to work flexibly and follow manager instructions.
• Regular cleaning, maintenance and preparation of areas and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, friendly, clean, and welcoming facilities for customers.
• Assist with day-to-day lifeguard duties and supervision.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies following procedures.
• Maintain poolside hygiene, equipment, and safety checks.
• Support staff across teams to ensure smooth operations.
