Job summary

BCP Council is seeking a Casual Leisure Assistant for Ashdown Leisure Centre. The role focuses on lifeguarding, basic coaching, children’s activities, and reception duties. DBS check is required at the level specified by the council, with enhanced benefits under the Pay and Reward scheme and clear progression within a defined pay band.

You will supervise the pool, deliver first aid, and assist with holiday programmes, while maintaining safety and customer service standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard duties in pool environment following RLSS guidance.
• DBS check at the required level.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the pool area and provide lifeguard service following RLSS guidance.
• Act as first aider for customers or staff at the leisure site.
• Inspect facilities and equipment against the daily schedule and address health and safety issues.
• Set up and take down sporting equipment safely and on time.
• Check cleanliness of facilities and participate in scheduled cleaning.
• Deliver basic non-specialist coaching to set programmes.
• Assist at children's parties and deliver holiday activity programmes.
• Provide general help and information to customers, including reception duties.
