Job summary

Serco Leisure is recruiting Lifeguards at Basingstoke Aquadrome to help keep the pool safe and welcoming for all visitors. You will supervise activities, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and ensure proper setup of pool equipment while delivering excellent customer care.

You’ll be safety‑minded, able to handle pressure, and hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. The role offers training, development opportunities, and access to leisure centre benefits as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles and strong communication with diverse ages.
• Provision of customer care and supervision of pool activities.
• Maintaining pool area cleanliness and safe equipment setup.
• Hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool safety and enforce regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and perform lifeguard assists.
• Assist with services and customer safety in the leisure centre.

Working hours:Various hours including Fri, 5pm - 8pm, Sat, 10am - 4pm and sun 10am - 4pm.

Salary:up to £13.27 per hour

What you'll need to do the role

You'll need to have excellentcustomer serviceskills as you'll be interacting heavily with our customers. So, whether you've earned that experience in aleisureor another customer facing environment, you'll be a people person who is happy dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds.

You will be providingcustomer careto people of all ages, supervising activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the pool area, and ensuring the safe handling and set up of pool equipment. And of course, when needed - you'll help to save lives.

As a lifeguard you'll naturally need to be safety conscious, vigilant, and able to deal with pressurised situations. Lastly, you'll need to have strongswimmingskillsand it's essential that you hold aNational Pool Lifeguard Qualification(Royal Life Saving Society).
