Job summary

Bolsover District Council operates Go! Active leisure facilities and related services across Bolsover District. The role supports the efficient operation of pools, gym, studios and spaces, with responsibilities across wet and dry areas and supervision of activities.

The post requires familiarity with leisure operations, safety practices, and customer service excellence; the job may include delivering water-based fitness classes as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent understanding of the leisure industry.
• Understanding of customer computerised booking systems.
• Understanding of the operation of leisure facilities and equipment including Health and Safety awareness.
• RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Award.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting.
• To be able to deliver water based fitness classes as and when required.

Job description

Assist in the operation of sports, leisure and recreational establishments throughout the Bolsover District. Bolsover District Council is a dynamic and ambitious organisation that takes pride in delivering excellent services to our community whilst driving economic growth and environmental sustainability for the district. Go! Active is a busy leisure facility that caters for a wide range of ages and abilities and is fully accessible. We have two swimming pools, a flume, gym facilities, a thermal suite, group exercise studios, group cycling studio, a sports hall, outdoor pitches and a café. This role ensures the efficient, effective and economic operation of sports, leisure and recreational activities, including a wide range of duties in wet, dry and other operational areas. The successful candidate will be involved in general leisure duties including control, organisation and implementation of the work of Leisure Services, its assets, resources, systems and methods of work.
