Job summary

University of Glasgow in Glasgow is seeking a part-time role to keep UofG Sport facilities welcoming and safe. You will engage customers, provide information on services, and supervise pool/lifeguard areas, ensuring high standards of safety, cleanliness and operation.

You will support building operations, assist with emergencies, and contribute to vending and stock management with the Duty Managers. The role requires a blend of customer service, basic first aid awareness and manual handling

Qualifications

• Essential: A1 SCQF Level 3 English & Maths or equivalent.
• Essential: NPLQ and/or First Aid at Work; if one is held, the other must be obtained within 6 months.
• Essential: Manual handling experience.
• Desirable: REPs Level 2.
• Desirable: Basic MS Office/Internet familiarity.
• Desirable: Full clean driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage with customers to provide an outstanding experience.
• Provide information on UofG Sport services in a positive, professional manner.
• Supervise pool lifeguard and steam room/sauna areas for safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and conduct basic maintenance tasks.
• Respond to emergencies, provide first aid and document actions.
• Support Duty Managers with vending operations and stock stocking.
• Ensure health & safety and ISO compliance in all activities.
• Coordinate with emergency services and Duty Managers in incidents.
• Assist with facility closing procedures to ensure security.
